Privacy policy

CB Find helps families recover school belongings. We collect as little personal data as we can, and we never put child identity on a public QR screen.

Who we are

CB Find is the data controller for this beta. Contact the operator using the email you used to join the trial.

What we collect

• Parent first name, sign-in email, optional notification email, optional mobile number
• Optional family nicknames used only inside your household
• Item category, optional description, and the public label ID
• Finder-shared collection locations and school storage locations
• Operational logs needed to prevent abuse of QR and Collection Codes

We do not collect dates of birth, year groups, photos of children, or home addresses as part of this beta.

QR and privacy model

Each label has a public ID. Anyone who scans it sees only that the item is protected, its category, and an optional description you chose. Finders never see your name, email, phone, or family nicknames. School staff see the item and where it is stored, not child identity.

How long we keep data

• Precise map pins are removed when you mark an item reunited, or after 14 days, whichever is sooner
• Abuse-prevention hashes for finder reports and Collection Code lookups are kept only as needed to rate-limit misuse
• Household account data is kept while the account is active, then deleted when a deletion request is fulfilled

Your rights

You can download a copy of your household data from Account, or request export or deletion. During the beta, deletion is completed by the operator after confirmation, usually within 30 days.
